I have been supporting Goodwill for 40 years, at first it was because I loved sifting thru everything and discovering treasures which constitutes a substantial collection Ill unique clothing as well as decorative and functional items for my home. I brought countless friends there and then my children, which is where they could work on their own creative process, they could choose from a variety of designer and non designer clothes, vintage etc..
it was within my budget being a single mom and raising 2 daughters on my salary alone, it brought out their own creative process and gave them confidence .which gave them a sense of confidence. They also learned the importance contribution by donating and buying from you and other non-profit organizations. This being said, I am disappointed to see how expensive Goodwill has become, at a time where many are struggling to make ends meet. I for one went looking for hiking boots and found a pair that fit me perfectly, slightly used priced at a whooping $56.00!
The pricing on clothing has risen tremendously, i understand the Goodwill industries has overhead like rent ,salaries etc..still, your merchandise is donation-based, and
Designer or not it has become too expensive! Many of us simply dont shop there regularly anymore, not when we can buy for less somewhere else, and cant afford Goodwill anymore?
I hope you will take my comments into consideration.
Thank you and Happy New Year!!
Sincerely,
Carole Quersin

To whom it may concern, while shopping at one of your Goodwills, I observed some concerning things.
A customer had tried on a couple jackets by the fitting room and went to hand them to a fitting room attendant that was close by. The fitting room attendant refused to take the items and said she technically wasnt supposed to be here.
Then she turned around and was very friendly with the customers in the fitting room area and asked them how they like their items, and if she could take anything for them. She watched the other customer that she declined to help with discussed. It was very clear she had chose not to help this individual. She went as far as to ask the customer to go put the items back on the rack for her.
Just after the first incident happened A young lady slipped at the entrance and hurt her knee and was unable to get up.
The Goodwill employees were very hands off as if they were afraid they were going to get in trouble. Everybody seemed confused as to who should call 911 and what should be done. One employee finally called 911 and the other instantly started taking pictures of the floor more interested in covering the stores butt then making sure the customer was OK. Then making sure to call the manager while still not taking care of the customer on the floor.
It had just rained inches of water!! I asked if there was anything I could put underneath her leg to support her knee and no employee responded to me. I took a couple shirts off the rack and rolled them up and put them under her knee. The employees got a wheelchair and wanted to get her up without even asking if she was OK checking for a spinal injury or anything.
Your employees were going to risk hurting themselves, lifting her up versus just leaving her and waiting for the ambulance to come. The emergency response was severely lacking, I understand you cannot be prepared for every situation. I happen to be a CPR first aid instructor and would like to offer to train employees to be CPR first aid certified at no cost.
I think its very important to have a few employees trained in first aid and have an emergency plan in place. I am happy to assist in anyway that I can at no cost.
Complaint on your prices
Do This corporation receives nothing but donations for free yet they Go through the items right away before pricing them to see if anything expensive Or worth major money got put in there. If they happen to find anything worth money, they put it on a goodwill site for the highest bidder.
Then They charge sky high prices like $20 for a pair of jeans $15 for a pair of shoes, etc.
for the remaining stuff. They get get kick backs and tax breaks For letting handicapped people work there. This corporation is doing nothing but getting rich off of peoples hard earned stuff that they paid for. They are supposed to be helping communities out that are low income but yet you can just pay a few extra bucks and get it brand new in the store, so what is the point of even having this Supposed thrift store around?
I will never donate to them again.
I would rather watch my stuff burn or let it rot before I would give it to this place. The rest is up to you.
User's recommendation: Do not support this corporation by buying their item

Verified ReviewerDifferent employees have different rules
Well first I pulled up in a pu truck completely full, the whole backseat, frintseat and back of truck and I got treated rudely as if I was causing an inconvenience. Then I went inside and saw new mattress and I asked for the 55 plus discount, since it was Tuesday, and I was denied.
When I asked why the cashier said because it's new?? I said I buy new and used items every week and I always get the discount on Tuesdays. So, after dropping off 2000 worth of merchandise, and when I really needed help, that was the treatment I received. In NC I use to get 25% discount.
Now I'm in FL and it's 15%. Makes no sense to me, but in any case, I'll never shop there again, employees either don't care, or make up answers, that never make sense..t
- Cheap
- Employees make up own versions of goodwill policy
Preferred solution: Well I keep all receipts and everytime I make a large purchase, an employee finds a way not to honor discount? I lost $250, and that's MINIMUM, because discount was not applied. In ref to drop off, I guess I'll try salvation army in future...

Verified Buyer | Sheboygan, WisconsinHorrible management in Sheboygan, Wisconsin
I recently stopped at the local Goodwill to support a good cause and get some needed clothes. I live on a budget so that explains why I was shopping here.
I spent $116 with the round up. I grabbed 2 pair of work pants and 4 pair of jeans. Shoes. Art supplies.
Electronics. When I got home to try on the pants that were 33x33 and located and labeled as mens pants I noticed they were not mens, but instead womens pants. I went right back to the store the same day and the cashier agreed and called a manager to over ride it. She asked what was wrong and I said I was just in here and bought jeans in the mens section that were in fact female jeans and that i did not want a refund, but to exchange them for mens jeans.
She said no it was my responsibility to check whether they were in the right location. I was shocked and said the havent even been tried on and the tags are still on. She rudely cut me off and said we have a no refund policy. I said dont you have a policy that mens jeans go in the same area and womens jeans a different one.
She said well we also have a dressing room. Im irritated because I work hard for my money and now she is taking my money and wasting my valuable free time without any sign of previous customer service skills. You could see she was only concerned with not doing any more work (which would have been minimal) and and getting back to eating whatever chips she was eating in back with her orange fingers and wrinkled shirt she was using as a bib. She was in unprofessional in ways Ive never seen at a store before.
I was in a rush so I just grabbed the sizes I have worn by this company. I will get 3 pairs of mens jeans for $9.99 each. You wont even have to change the receipt. All you will have to do is put the correct tag on these and hang them in the womens section or if you dont want to do that you can just hang them in the mens again and hope some one notices or a girl is shopping in the mens department.
She gave me a look and said are you done. I stormed out and then she sarcastically said multiple times thank you good bye. Its only $30, but thats money I dont have to donate. The store is dirty.
Many clothing items are incorrectly placed and the manager was very rude and not a good role model. I would hate to see how she treats staff. I always round up and have got bad electronics but never will I go back to this store. She could have politely said anything like I wish I could but we dont allow exchanges.
She could have simply said sorry or dressed accordingly not her position. She looked as if she had just rolled of the couch in a wrinkled and stained shirt and pants that were not flattering. I will never shop, donate, or encourage anyone to this goodwill unless they remedy this situation.
I feel bad for the workers that actually do the work there because they are all kind and very professional. Their store manager is a joke and rude.

If you want to donate your clothing etc, find somewhere else to do it please. Goodwill is a for profit business that gets free merchandise and then hikes up the price to ridiculous prices.
Yes they give people with records jobs and people with disabilities. But why shouldn't they anyway! And don't round up at the register. You're already giving them way too much money!
It's a perfect business model. Open a store, call it "Goodwill", have people give you free items feeling they are doing something good and then resell it for a profit. Sure maybe some people that are shopping there are resellers, which is why prices are hiked. But, your average reseller is not getting rich.
AND youre getting it free! Otherwise its people that cant afford these prices. It used to be if you couldn't afford store prices you'd go to a thrift store.
Now they arent that far off for used items. If the prices were fair I would not be writing this.
- Lots of selection
- High prices items have been picked through by employees

User's recommendation: Don't donate here

I bought 2 boxes of nutty buddy bar's . It cost me $13.98.
When they came in and I opened the box, it was clearly marked on each box "$2.79. Who does that ? I also thought it was for a much bigger box.
I could have bought these from the damn store. Shame on them.

Its one thing to say something to the parents but its total a game changer when you put your hards on someone elses toddler/ child with the intent to harm

Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona 2626 West Beryl Avenue Phoenix, AZ 85021 (6**) **5-4000 http://***/
In the past when someone donated they would receive a receipt which was also a 25% off coupon I believe. Goodwill discontinued this policy as well as allowing someone poor or in need to get what they needed, for instance one blanket, warm or cool clothing , immediate needs
I'm totally agreements with you with Goodwill a pair of diabetic socks that they are selling which is basically the only thing I do by there but I can go to my local drug store and buy it for $2 cheaper now come on. Does that make any sense when I'm trying to support what the name says Goodwill I want to shame
