I have been looking for a job since 2015 after losing a college scholarship so I could return to college. A school board employee who helps get students into the college I attended directed me to a government-funded job placement program run by Goodwill Industries.

After almost a year of working with this program, nearly getting a job, and being told something came up and the position is no longer available, I learned that it's intended for people with disabilities. Some time last year, Goodwill started laying off disabled people, replacing them with non-disabled people directed to the program by government employees, and putting fake disabilities on all the new workers' records.

Anyone else sent their way is lied to about available positions, told that applying for a job on their own will get them kicked out of the program, and kept in the program (likely with fake disabilities) just to get more money from the state government. Goodwill, along with another company called SourceAmerica, is currently getting investigated by the federal government over the fake disabilities and layoffs.

Location: Bossier City, Louisiana

Goodwill also has an auction site that people can place bids and purchase donated items throughout their different goodwill store locations. However, what I've noticed on the store sites is the costs for shipping.

Many stores are doubling and even tripling the actual weight of an item thus generating additional revenue thru bogus inflated shipping charges. One Goodwill is located in Hillsboro OR and this particular store has such overinflated shipping weights and estimated shipping costs on items it's as if the store is generating additional revenue by committing postal/shipping charge fraud thru false inflated item weights. I've actually contacted the OR Attorney Generals office with regard to the issue. Its not right and it may not even be legal for Goodwill stores to generate additional revenue thru the use of false postage/shipping fees.

Not to mention, I would think that people who make purchases thru the Goodwill auction sites may have a limited income to begin with.

So, I see no reason for individuals to be ripped off by overinflated inaccurate shipping/postal fees. Its not right.

Not to meniton items they say "powers up ok" are broken and they dont disclose. They use tactics like "Do not have the means to test" I mean are you kidding, you dont have a speaker to plug into a receiver or an amp.

Of course they do, but they know it dosent work and they try to maximize profits on broken items, by saying "powers on ok" This is why there retail stores get sabotaged. People go in and break items as they have been "taken to the cleaners" on shopgoodwill.com items. I have been burned on many many items from shopgoodwill, they show photos of it working then you get it and it wont work at all. The return/ dispute process is a disaster, I have to pay with Paypal for everything so I can dispute.

For Example I got a JVC receiver in the box from Buffalo NY goodwill and it arrived soaking wet, and I had to fight with paypal to get $$ back and that goodwill wouldnt respond to damage claims simply told me "aw, too bad, as is" They are all total crooks and I can see why people go in and break items in the retail stores as they have been taken and feel the need for revenge. I live in Ohio and saw North Olmstead store said "please stop going to the bathroom on the floor" in the dressing rooms.. LOL LOL!!! You think people are upset, you bet.

Used to be a good charity, now they are just inflating the CEO's bank account and paying his Mercedes- benz payments. Most items are broken, People go and push speakers in...cones are damaged, I see Stereo receivers that knobs have been completely bent off record players that every *** button has been ripped off, Drinks spilled in nice amps, electronics that have had semen on them, crusty buttons, used condoms in Saxophones you name it, I have seen it there.

Word of advise, avoid goodwill at all costs.

Especially there electronics. Unless you know how to fix them, or like crusty buttons.
